Rain takes its time reaching Menlo Park

Apart from one 15-minute downpour around 10:00 this morning, the forecasted rain evidently moseyed down the Peninsula, reaching Menlo Park around 1:00 pm.

And while the winds were really whipping in the morning, it appeared things had quieted down this afternoon at 4:00 when InMenlo weather watcher Dennis Nugent went outside to check his manual gauge.

Checking it against the digital rain gauge, he reports just 0.26″ for a season-to-date total of 9.71″. As of January 19, 2023, there was 23.53″ with no more falling that month.

It’s likely the sound of rain will be heard on rooftops at least through mid-morning tomorrow.
