Menlo Park residents view eclipse in Dallas

by Linda Hubbard on April 9, 2024

Menlo Park residents Elaine Hammond and John Donald were in Dallas to view the eclipse yesterday joined by their son Henry. The top photo shows the eclipse in the middle of the afternoon, the darkened sky allowing Venus to appear.

Emails John: “Despite a dismal forecast, the clouds parted and the crowd that was gathered in downtown Dallas at the Main Street Garden Park was awestruck by a beautiful total solar eclipse, one of the best I’ve seen.

“This was my fifth total eclipse: Costa Rica 91, Zimbabwe 2001, Australia 2012, Oregon 2017, and now Dallas 2024.”

The final photo was taken by their daughter Margaret in New York City. You could say the Donald family are eclipse fans!
