Juneteenth is celebrated in Menlo Park
The City of Menlo Park’s Juneteenth celebration took place today at the new Belle Haven Community Campus.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States.

Simply spectacular! It is invigorating, seeing the community celebrate an important part of history. I am so grateful that Mayor Cecilia Taylor is in office, as well as all of the things she has accomplished for Menlo Park and surrounding cities.
