Three BSA Troop 206 Scouts earn Eagle rank

Three BSA Troop 206 Scouts earned Eagle rank and were recently recognized at an award ceremony.
Caleb Travers (far right in photo), son of Amy and Kevin Travers of Menlo Park, recently graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School. His project focused on developing and constructing a meal preparation area for the Riekes Center in Redwood City. Caleb knew he wanted to help the Riekes Center and learned that they had a large brick pizza oven in the backyard, and they wanted to use that back space more for cooking and entertaining.
In conjunction with the Riekes Center, Caleb decided that a food safe, concrete-topped table with storage would allow them to store cooking supplies, firewood, and other tools while also providing a surface on which they could teach, entertain, and make pizzas. The project included digging holes for the posts of the table, assembling the wooden frame, lowering it in, and molding concrete around the posts. Caleb and his team subsequently added drawers and a food-safe treatment on top.
Andy Eckert (second from left), son of Greg and Vicki Eckert of Menlo Park, recently graduated from Junipero Serra High School. His Eagle project focused on building a three-person bench for the outdoor area of the Life Moves Vendome Center for the homeless. The project was supported by Life Moves leaders Lynnelle Bilsey and Steven Carey. The bench is for use by residents, volunteers, and community members during events held at the Vendome center yard and to promote socialization within the yard.
Kyle Walker (second from right), son of Fiona and Dave Walker of Menlo Park, recently graduated from Woodside High School. His Eagle project focused on fence restoration at Huddart Park in Woodside. Kyle led scouts in restoring around a quarter mile of fencing along trails in Huddart Park, including removing old posts, digging new post holes, replacing posts and filling holes with gravel to allow better drainage. San Mateo County Parks provided sponsorship and some of the materials for the project.
Troop 206 is under the leadership of Scout Master Rich Collyer.
