Coffee wrapped in kindness at CoffeeBar today thanks to Hillview students

In celebration of World Kindness Day on Wednesday, November 13, Hillview Middle School is partnering for the second year in a row with Menlo Park’s CoffeeBar to provide hand written notes of kindness on coffee sleeves.
Hillview’s counseling team — Christina Johnson, Meagan Cantalupi, and Kellie Raczkowski — led a lunchtime activity for students to decorate the sleeves provided by CoffeeBar, which will be available in the store today. Hillview counselors hope that when a customer sees a handwritten note it will brighten their day and inspire more kindness.
World Kindness Day was introduced in 1998 and is celebrated around the world.
Menlo Park City School District adopted a new vision statement this year: Educating and empowering students while embracing childhood and adolescence. This activity aligns beautifully with the vision of empowering students by giving them an active role in caring for the community and seeing the power of their voice to impact our neighbors.

Thanks for attempting to counter all the ugliness and hate we suffer through daily! What a wonderful way to teach the students to be kind! I wish all students could have such encouragement!
