“Thought you might enjoy this morning photo, shot at Burgess Pool after the Killer Quad II: 50×100.

“The Killer Quad is an exclusive Menlo Masters team event that originated in 1991. The original concept was to keep us motivated to keep swimming through the holidays when motivation has a tendency to dip. Hopefully the impending long swims would give us more reason to keep our fitness high during the winter months. It works!

“It starts with the 1-hour swim around Halloween, 50x100s at Thanksgiving, 75x100s at Christmas, and 100x100s at New Years. This year they also introduced a Lite edition = 1/2 of the main Killer Quad swims.”

Killer Quad is the best!! Lanes can have 6-9 people in a lane and the more the better! We swim 3 seconds apart and draft behind each other switching leaders every 500 yards.
I schedule my holiday around these swims. It’s exhausting but very rewarding.
Menlo Masters is my community and my people.
