Second exhibit of Irene Searles photography on display at Flea Street

For the next several months, diners at Flea Street in Menlo Park can enjoy viewing photographs by Woodside resident — and long time InMenlo contributing photographer — Irene Searles.
“It’s a collection of photos from 2009 to the present,” she explains. “There’s more color than last year’s exhibit and more photos are shape driven”
Walking around the restaurant, Irene pointed out that the photos in the bar area are curated around circular forms.

Other techniques she used were adding texture and layers to create less realistic forms.
“The maple leaves — which were taken in 2023 in Japan — are a combination of written word, linen and color.”

Two images are from her recent trip to Yellowstone, and she describes them as “intimate landscapes” (shown in top photo).
In addition, infrared and street photographs are part of the exhibit.
“It’s electic — people tell me they feel like they are looking at paintings.”
Flea Street — open from Tuesday to Saturday from 5:00 pm to close — is located at 3607 Alameda de las Pulgus.
