Menlo Park City Council priority setting workshop – your written input is requested by March 7
The City Council seeks your input on what Menlo Park should prioritize for fiscal year 2025-26. Your input is the first step and will help the City Council understand the community’s priorities.
Your feedback will be presented for City Council consideration and discussion at the Priority Setting Workshop on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please provide any written input by Friday, March 7.
Last year, the City Council identified four top priorities for fiscal year 2024-25, with the help of many community members who shared their input.
- Climate action – mitigation, adaptation and resilience
- Emergency and disaster preparedness
- Housing
- Safe routes
Activating downtown / economic development was also included as a top priority in the past.
Identifying top priorities helps the city manager create a work plan of projects for the year. Many of the projects take multiple years to plan, fund and complete.

I am very concerned with the increase in development and multi-family housing and office space development that there be adequate care given to increased traffic and parking enforcement. Parking limits along the Springline development is impossible to find. Traffic along Willow road and ECR are terrible since the completion of the projects in Menlo Park. I am concerned that the SRI project will bring major congestion. If the Sunset project is allowed to move forward, the issues only increase. We must have realistic conversations about how incredibly unwise this congestion is for our community.

Top priority is stopping the builders remedy project at the Sunset property. A nightmare visited upon our city.
Another priority is getting maintenance to keep the city’s playgrounds in good working order and Safe for our children. Nealon Playground has many maintenance issues.
