Enjoy the music of an Indonesian gamelan orchestra on July 24

On Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 10:15 to 11:00 am, come to the Menlo Park Library lawn to enjoy the music and spectacle of an Indonesian gamelan orchestra.

Gamelan is a unique form of music originating from the islands of Indonesia, the most well-known from Bali. A gamelan orchestra is often considered to be a single instrument, played by many people. On Thursday, the Gamelan Sekar Swarasanti, an orchestra based in Santa Cruz County, will be at the library.

There will be tarps over the lawn but feel free to bring a blanket or mat for your own comfort.

This free event received funding support from the Friends of the Menlo Park Library.
