Annual rainfall in Menlo Park makes for a decent year at 22.30″

It’s been some time since Menlo Park saw rain drops hitting the street — last April to be exact, according to InMenlo weather watcher Dennis Nugent (except for a bit of drizzle from time to time.)
Based on historical comparisons, it was a decent year, measuring 22.30 inches between from 10/1/2025 to 9/30/2026.
Just 16.84″ fell between September 30, 2024 and October 1, 2025, and a whopping 39.48″ was recorded in the prior rain year.
But watch out! The 2026–2027 El Niño event is rapidly strengthening in the equatorial Pacific Ocean and is projected to become one of the strongest — or potentially record-shattering —events on record.
