M-A football and Coach Saunders receive recognition for serving community

Coach Christopher Saunders and the Menlo-Atherton Football Program were recently recognized for exceptional leadership and commitment to service-learning at M-A.
As the originator of Sports Service Days, Coach Saunders inspired a tradition that grew from football to girls and boys basketball, flag football, water polo, and special programs across campus.
On eight occasions throughout the summer, the M-A football team served at the Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto. Players hustled in the summer sun, sorting and organizing fresh food and escorting families to their cars with their groceries — all with a smile.
Without seeking fanfare or recognition, Coach Saunders and his players strengthened the bonds within their team and throughout the M-A community.
