Middle Grade Book Group has virtual visit with author Brigit Young on October 15

On Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, join the Menlo Park Library’s Middle Grace Book Group for a virtual Q&A session with author Brigit Young discussing her book Banned Books, Crop Tops, & Other Bad Influences.
About the book: Sheltered small-town teen Rose forms an underground book club for banned books with Talia, an outspoken new kid from New York City.
About the author: Along with being a published of both novels and short stories, Young has taught creative writing to kids of all ages. She loves watching children learn the magic of using their voice to create. Her four books earned multiple starred reviews, a Junior Library Guilds selection for Best Book of 2019, and were featured on lists including the Best Book of 2020 from the Chicago Public Library, Seventeen Magazine’s 50 books for Teens That You Won’t Be Able to Put Down, & NBC News’ 9 Books to help Young Girls Build a Positive Image. When Brigit isn’t working, she loves hanging out with her kids, gardening, cuddling her dog, watching British mysteries, and singing.
Middle Grade Book Group meets in person at Menlo Park Library on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
