Meet the candidates for Atherton Town Council Thursday night (9/30)

by Linda Hubbard Gulker on September 29, 2010

The Atherton Civic Interest League and the League of Women Voters will hold a forum at 7:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 30 at Holbrook-Palmer Park’s Pavillion for the four candidates who are running for three Town Council seats. Each candidate was asked to submit a 500 word candidate’s statement and to answer a number of specific questions in advance. The positions statements and answers are available online and will also be distributed to attendees at the forum.

During the forum each candidate will be given the opportunity to make an opening statement. Following these statements questions which have been submitted by the attendees will be consolidated and asked of the candidates.

The four candidates are Jerry Carlson, Jim Dobbie, Bill Widmer and Cary Wiest. An article in the Almanac published a week ago (9/22) said that Wiest may not be able to participate due to a scheduling conflict.
