Spotted: End of a banner era?

A little over a year ago, InMenlo was founded, by a crew who weren’t exactly sure what the site should be. At first, we frequently just snapped pictures of things that caught our fancy (hence our Drive-by Photography category). We were often amused by the colorful flags that hung outside a home on Olive Street at the junction with Oak Avenue, which flags rotated as the seasons and holidays came and went. A number of other local homes also observe this charming custom.

Today the roving InMenlo photographer passed by, only to discover a yard sale in progress and the flags on sale for a very reasonable price. We can only hope the sale will make room for a new batch of the fun, colorful banners.
