Don’t text and drive – especially on these dates
The Menlo Park Police Department issued a press release on March 29 alerting residents about a “zero tolerance distracted driving enforcement operation.” So be warned. As part of April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month, drivers who break the law and “place themselves and others in danger” will be cited by MPPD. The minimum ticket is $159.
The somewhat curious thing is that the department also announced the specific enforcement dates, in some cases getting quite specific: Drivers should restrain from calling or texting all day on April 4 and 5 and from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on April 14 and from 1:00 to 9:00 pm April 28.
