Spotted: Cozzolino pumpkins, Lucero tomatoes at Menlo Park Farmers Market
You can fake a “just plucked from the field” pumpkin by purchasing one from a Cozzolino family member Sundays at the Menlo Park Farmers Market. They arrive from the Half Moon Bay farm with long stems and a bit of other foliage, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. This morning prices ranged from $12 to $20.
It was a sphere of a different sort that caught two young shoppers’ eyes. Ben Lucero brings a couple dozen varieties of organic tomatoes to market weekly in late summer and early fall, ranging in color from bright yellow to deep purple – and everything in between!
