College-bound Sacred Heart Prep grads start mobile car wash business

by Linda Hubbard on July 8, 2012

Jack Randall and Christian Freeman knew they wanted to start a business together this summer but it took awhile to figure out just what. Then they decided to offer a service they already knew something about — washing cars.

“We both wash our own cars, and decided coming to people’s homes to wash their cars would save them time,” explains Jack (left in photo). “Plus we could make it a more personal experience.”

“There’s a mobile detailing guy in the area but not a mobile car wash,” adds Christian.

The pair, both recent graduates of Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, call their business Park. They’re charging $18 to $24 per wash, depending on the car’s size.

While at Sacred Heart, they’d teamed up on a school project, producing a video on animal rights. So, it was natural to extend their partnership to summer work. Both plan to study business at college — Jack at the University of Santa Clara and Christian at USC.

“We’re hoping that good word-of-mouth to keep us busy this summer,” says Jack.
