Workshop on water-efficient edible gardening set for April 13

The city of Menlo Park and the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) is offering a free workshop titled “Water-efficient Edible Gardening” on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 am to noon at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center (Oak Room) located at 700 Alma St.

Attendees will learn about how to reduce water needs for seasonal vegetable gardening, dry-farmed tomatoes, mulches, compost, cover crops/green manure, and watering and maintenance tips. Participants will also learn about the Lawn Be Gone program that provides up to $3,000 in rebates for converting lawns into water-efficient landscapes. Registration is required.
