Earth Day recognition showcases the environmental activities of Menlo Park residents and organizations

by Linda Hubbard on April 23, 2013

Carolyn Dorch, profiled on InMenlo on Earth Day yesterday, isn’t the only environmentally mind person in the Menlo Park area.

Ucan Products founder and CEO Anne Morrissey was spotted at the Farmers’ Market on Sunday espousing the virtues of composting and bringing the companies “untrash” solutions to shoppers.

Trash at M-AOthers previously profiled for their environmental efforts include, among others:

The Green Team at Las Lomitas School who make every lunch hour a recyle/compost time

Stuart Weiss’s work to reintroduce the Bay Checkerspot Butterfly at Edgewood Park

Encinal School’s Girl Scout Troop involvement with multiple environmental projects

Menlo School and Sacred Heart Prep face off on Earth Day challenge

Vivek Wadhwa’s environmentally-friendly “passive” home

There is, of course, the flip side: Students at M-A choose to recognize Earth Day by showering the M-A Bear with a day’s worth of collected garbage to heighten awareness that we all can do more to spare the Earth.
