We received an email from Renu Nanda, Executive Director of the Ravenswood Education Foundation: “Wow! We are proud to say that this past year, REF raised over $1,300,000, or $370 per student, to support student achievement in East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park.

“Every dollar raised has helped REF provide:

Student Achievement

  • Summer Academies for over 600 students
  • Expanded Day Initiative at 5 of our 8 schools

Teaching Excellence

  • A District-wide STEM Coordinator to enhance technology, science and math instruction
  • A new Middle School Science Coordinator to ensure hands-on science experiences reach more students
  • Vital training for the new Common Core standards in English and Language Arts
  • More essential books, science supplies, and educational software

Parent Engagement

  • Grants matching over 1,000 Ravenswood parent donations
  • High school information nights
  • Parent education classes

“We are thrilled to start the new school year strong. We have a new Superintendent and two new principals, and a thriving community committed to educational success for ALL students. The picture says it best!”
