Spotted: Trinity kids with their Alleluia banner on Easter

by Linda Hubbard on March 31, 2024

There is a tradition at Trinity Church in Menlo Park where the children who attend  paint a Alleluia banner on Ash Wednesday — and then “bury” it.

It reemerges on Easter Sunday for the whole congregation to view and enjoy.

After today’s 10:00 am service, they poised on the porch of Montgomery House (built in 1914) on the church campus.

Next Sunday the kids will be working on a mural for Earth Day.

The Earth Day murals were heavenly colors of sea/air/land creatures thriving in beauty. We sat at Trinity surrounded by these artistic endeavors and also potted flowers. Our homily was a lot of history about Rachel Carson and her poetic science in Silent Spring. Solar panels installed by Trinity volunteers were also dedicated.
