Menlo Park honors Café Zoe owner Kathleen Daly for service to community

Just years after a series of armed robberies threatened a block of stores in Menlo Park’s Willows neighborhood,  Menalto Corners has become a vibrant community hub. Key to the turnaround has been Café Zoe, the go-to spot for local moms, home-office workers, and dealmakers, whose owner, Kathleen Daly, is on a mission to bring the community closer together.

Her efforts to rally neighbors to support a good cause – from serving Christmas dinner at the local VA to buying uniforms for underserved school kids – was recognized in a proclamation from the city of Menlo Park presented to her by Menlo Park Mayor Ray Mueller and his fellow City Council members on Tuesday evening, Jan. 14th. On hand, was, of course, daughter Zoe (right in photo), namesake of Kathleen’s cafe. Note: Kathleen is wearing a “super hero” cape presented by a Willows resident during the public comments period.
