On September 17th, 28 traffic officers from various law enforcement agencies throughout San Mateo County will be participating in the San Mateo County Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.). The STEP initiative is a collaborative effort to increase traffic safety and awareness in known trouble spots throughout San Mateo County. Tomorrow’s deployment will occur in the cities of Atherton and Menlo Park.

This is the ninth deployment in a number of planned multi-agency saturation deployments scheduled to be performed throughout San Mateo County in the coming year. The San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association and Redwood City Office of the California Highway Patrol have all committed to this important safety initiative.
