Tamera White returns to her early career interest, opening Crime Prevention Solutions

by Linda Hubbard on August 17, 2015

We became acquainted with Tamera White when working with her on her post about growing up as a neighbor of CBS This Morning host Gayle King and were intrigued with what this other Menlo-Atherton High School grad was up to.

Ironically she, like Gayle, has spent some time in front of the camera and behind the microphone. But a stint as the Director of Community Education for the then Marin Rape Crisis Center in San Rafael as well as work as the Coordinator of the Rape Prevention Education Program for the University California, San Francisco, led to her current pursuit: owner of Crime Prevention Solutions, offering personal safety seminars.

“After working at the Marin center and UCSF, I spent years in PR,” she says. “But now that I’m in mid-life, I started examining what I really wanted to do. I like my radio and TV work and doing public speaking is a natural offshoot.”

Tamera’s seminars are customized for corporations, organizations, conferences,  associations, and government. She also offers a Campus Safety/Date Rape Prevention Program for universities, and middle school and high school students.

“It’s a fairly new pursuit for me, but one that I am really able to embrace given my earlier work,” she says. “It’s great to be back doing what I really love.”
