This time the rain pays a drenching visit to Menlo Park

by Linda Hubbard on January 6, 2019

After yesterday’s sputtering, the skies opened up and the rain came to stay in Menlo Park today.

Reports InMenlo weather watcher Bill Russ: “As of 4:15 p.m. today, 1” to add to my backyard total. That is 5.7” season-to-date as compared to 4.15” a year ago.

“Keep in mind that was a slack rain year. Maybe the predicted coming rain, especially with a ‘soaking’ predicted for Wednesday, will give the total a big boost.

Contributing photographer Robb Most used the wet weather as an opportunity to stop by the cactus garden on the edge of the Stanford campus. We applaud the results!

what a striking reminder with the rain on the cacti, how dry and arid it has been! May later pictures show a spring landscape with the lush flowers and landscapes that will result from many days of
soaking rain.
