Spotted: Menlo Park native Will Brill winning a Tony award

by Linda Hubbard on June 21, 2024

Will Brill, who grew up in Menlo Park, won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his performance in Stereophonic, a show on Broadway loosely based on the creation of the Fleetwood Mac album Rumours.

At the time Rumours was recorded, Fleetwood Mac featured two Menlo-Atherton High School grads, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham.

There’s another local connection to this year’s Tonys, which were handed out last Sunday (June 16) sisters Julie & Marion Cohn helped produce three of the five Tony nominees — Stereophonic, Suffs and Cabaret. Their next production has already won a NY Film Critics award.

It is so cool to see the many graduates of MA that have become so successful in the entertainment world. I graduated from MA in 1959 and we are having a reunion this Sept for 65 years. Loved the old days of Atherton and Menlo Park.
