Rainfall again wimpy in Menlo Park but big storm is in the forecast
The rainfall that was forecast for the past 24 hours produced only slightly wet streets this morning with the sun appearing around noon. There was no measurable rain in weather watcher Dennis Nugent’s digital gauge.
A big storm is in the forecast starting tomorrow: The National Weather Service predicts heavy rain, flood risk and thunderstorms in our area starting Friday, Nov. 22 and continuing into next week. There is a 15-25% chance of thunderstorms Friday Nov. 22 through Saturday Nov. 23. Menlo Park is also under a wind advisory until 6:00 pm today.
There is no predicted risk of flooding of the San Francisquito Creek or Atherton Channel. Up to two inches of rain is forecast for the upper San Francisquito Creek watershed through the weekend, which may result in some flowing water in the creek channel — likely less than one foot deep. The City will continue to monitor local conditions throughout the storm season.
