Shiok! Singapore Kitchen to close at the end of January
Dennis Lim emailed InMenlo:
“After over 20 years of serving the Menlo Park community, we’re heartbroken to announce that Shiok! Singapore Kitchen will be closing its doors at the end of this month. Just before Christmas, we learned that our building had been sold, and we were given only 30 days to vacate.
“This news has been difficult to process, but we are determined to use our remaining time to celebrate the memories and connections we’ve built with this amazing community. From first dates to family traditions, Shiok! has been part of so many special moments.
“We invite customers to join us one last time.”
Shiok! Singapore Kitchen is located at 1137 Chestnut St in downtown Menlo Park

Greedy new landlords are placing profit over people and communities. I’ve seen so many businesses shut down due to new management or high leases, and then the places go vacant for months to years. Menlo Park downtown is somber and needs to be revitalized with sufficient parking. It’s very sad to see the recent closures of Ann’s Coffee Shop, Goodwill Boutique, and now Shiok and Gerry’s Cakes.
