Where was all that predicted rain and wind?

4:00 pm update: The answer to the question in the headline came this afternoon. Rain and wind started in earnest around 3:00 pm today. The updated total is now .53″ (and it is still raining). That brings the season-to-date to 9.35″.

We were out and about from 8:30 to mid-morning expecting to be drenched by rain and whipped by winds. It didn’t happen — rather the tiniest drops fell on the windshield.

Now the sun is peeking through, so we asked InMenlo weather watcher Dennis Nugent for a rain report: 0.39″ as of noon, bringing the season-to-date 9.21″. We will take another look at the gauge later this afternoon and update as necessary.
