The Guild Theatre celebrates its 100th anniversary

by Contributed Content on May 6, 2026

The Guild Theatre, the Menlo Park landmark that first opened its doors in 1926 and now enters its centennial year, has announced its 100th Anniversary Concert Series — a special season of live music running from June through November 2026 in celebration of the venue’s centennial year.

Presented by Peninsula Arts Guild, the local nonprofit organization that independently owns and operates The Guild, the anniversary lineup features a fitting, full-circle moment: a screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on June 14, a nod to the theater’s longtime legacy as a beloved single-screen cinema known for its midnight screenings of the cult classic. Joining the screening is Bawdy Caste, San Francisco’s longest-running Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast. From there, the series continues through the fall, wrapping up in mid-November.

The Guild Theatre’s 100th Anniversary Concert Series includes:

June 2-3: The Psychedelic Furs
June 14: The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Feat. Bawdy Caste)
June 20: Neal Francis (Presented by KEXP)
June 24: Buckethead
July 18: Margo Price
July 30-31: Christone “Kingfish” Ingram
August 6: Bad Nerves
August 17: Cat Power (Presented by KEXP)
September 23: Tommy Emmanuel
October 14: Jon McLaughlin
October 16: Shovels & Rope
November 16: Son Volt

Tckets are available online, with additional anniversary programming and events to be announced in the months ahead.

To commemorate its 100th anniversary and invest in its future, Peninsula Arts Guild is also launching the Legacy Giving Circle, a new donor initiative designed to help sustain The Guild Theatre for future generations.

“We’re proud to celebrate where this theatre has been, while investing in where it can go next, which is why we’re rolling out a new Legacy Giving Circle, to ensure its future,” said Drew Dunlevie, President and Board Chairman of Peninsula Arts Guild.

Originally opened in 1926 as a movie house, The Guild Theatre became a local institution for decades before closing as a cinema in 2019. It was later reimagined by Peninsula Arts Guild and reopened in 2022 as a live entertainment venue.

In addition to its regular programing, the Guild hosts fundraisers — Doing Good at The Guild — which support local charitable causes.
