Harpist Alexander Boldachev performs in Menlo Park on September 27

The Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Harp Society, a local 501 (c) 3 organization, is presenting internationally-acclaimed virtuoso harpist Alexander Boldachev in free concert on Sunday, September 27, at New Community Church (1100 Middle Ave.) in Menlo Park.

“Alexander is not a typical concert harpist. He is an internationally acclaimed virtuoso whose performances showcase the harp in ways that many people may not expect. His programming combines beloved classical music with contemporary favorites and his own original arrangements, and his performances are known for their energy, virtuosity, and creativity.

“For someone who doesn’t think of themselves as a “harp concert” person, I think the appeal is simply hearing an extraordinary musician do something remarkable with an instrument that is both familiar and surprisingly versatile. It is an opportunity to experience the harp in a completely different way.

“We are especially excited to bring Alexander to Menlo Park because this is a rare opportunity to hear an artist of his caliber in such an intimate setting.”
