Make it a Menlo Park Valentines Day with clever ideas created by “Jac ‘o lyn Murphy”

Editor’s note: Buying locally for Valentines Day is easy thanks to businesses owned and run by Menlo Park residents. We start our suggestions with one of our favorites, Alexis Murphy’s custom paper products and party favors displayed via her website Jac ‘o lyn Murphy (a combination of her childrens’ names, Jack and Carolyn) and on her Etsy Valentines page. A sampling of Valentines ideas is presented below with text supplied by Alexis.
Shine bright like a diamond valentine (pictured, top)
With 2 Middle School kids, I relinquished control of the car radio years ago. There are many songs that “get stuck in my head” and most of those are all Rihanna’s fault. A little Valentine’s gift for my daughter, to remind her that I am listening when she plays her music! (The jumbo Diamond Ring is actually for keys.)
Just like your favorite take out dinner, a quick and easy teacher valentine. Stuff a take out box with tissue paper (or similar) and rest a restaurant gift card on top. Tie with ribbon.
Don’t hide your feelings
A silly gift to give your Valentine asking them that age old question: Will you be my Valentine? One pair of glasses with nose, mustache and eyebrows attached. Red paper hearts in the glasses are printed with “There is no disguising it” and “Will you be my Valentine”. Messages can be customized as well.
