Belle Haven neighborhood pool in Menlo Park is now open year round

Menlo Swim and Sport announced that through a joint venture with Facebook, the City of Menlo Park, and Beyond Barriers Athletic Foundation, the Belle Haven Pool is now open to the public year-round. Prior to 2013, Belle Haven Pool was open only 10 weeks each summer.
Filling a long-time need in the Belle Haven neighborhood, the Belle Haven Pool is managed by Menlo Swim and Sport and provides programming for kids and adults. Activities offered include youth and adult swim lessons, youth swim and water polo team, Masters swimming, and AquaFit water exercise. The aquatics day camp program is growing, and open and lap swimming is available for the community.
“Thanks to USA Productions who facilitated the initial introductions, Menlo Swim and Sport, Facebook, and the City of Menlo Park were able to connect. Together, we developed a strong plan to support this community asset”, said Tim Sheeper, President of Menlo Swim and Sport. “In addition, Beyond Barriers Athletic Foundation has joined us to provide much needed scholarship support for Belle Haven community kids. These kids can now participate in swim lessons, water polo, and lifeguard classes at a pool close to home.”
Along with the partnerships, Menlo Swim and Sport introduced a stellar staff to the Belle Haven community, including Brenda Villa, a four-time Olympian and gold medalist in water polo. She is the Head of Aquatics Outreach and oversees the Maverick youth water polo program, bringing a vision for athletics and health to local neighborhood kids that extend well beyond the pool.
Belle Haven Pool is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 to 10:00 am and 3:00 to 7:30 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The complete schedule is available online.
