Robin Tobias celebrates 40 years operating her physical therapy practice

Long time Menlo Park resident  Robin Tobias describes it as “pretty shocking.”

“Forty years ago I signed a three year lease. Now I think about all the times I’ve walked up and down those stairs. And the fact that some of our clients are the kids of people who came to us decades ago!”

Before starting her practice in what was then a small office space, Robin developed and directed the Athletic Training facilities at Menlo School and College for seven years. She’s also worked with the Smuin Ballet, which she describes as “really fun.”

“I never intended to have a practice,” she says. “Initially it was just me treating patients. Now I have a staff of people, some who’ve been with me for decades. We work like a collective.”

Robin says she’s currently not thinking of retiring. “I get teased because I’m terrible about planning the future. It’s probably because I was born butt first!”

Her greatest joy: “I love living and working in the same town. And I love that people trust me.”
