First days of winter bring a bit of rain to Menlo Park
After a dry first few weeks of December, it was like the weather gods woke up yesterday, December 21st, the first day of winter and sent a sprinkling of rain — 0.15″ to be exact, according to InMenlo weather watcher Dennis Nugent’s digital gauge.
A little more fell this morning — 0.23″ — with the sun poking through late morning, and then clouds returning in the afternoon.
That brings the season-to-date to 5.59.” Last year’s total as of December 16 was 4.93″. More rain fell after Christmas.
Mathilda could not disguise her displeasure about the rain during her morning walk.

Poor Mathilda! It’s hard to appreciate the ‘much-needed rain’ when your paws are getting wet. Hope she got a nice dry towel and a treat after that walk!
