Through her company Carbon Cutout, Nicole Angiel invites you to enjoy a healthier new year

Menlo Park resident Nicole Angiel is passionate, she says, “about health, climate, food and making good choices.” Her advice for the New Year: “Eat more plants!”
Her company Carbon Cutout is offering a series of four local lunches which she is calling Veganuary 2026. The first lunch is scheduled for January 9. Find out more on her website.
“A lot of people feel nervous switching what they eat, worried they might not have the same social connections.
“But it’s about opening up people’s minds and showing them that while change can be hard, it can also be rewarding and fun. And you can still be with your friends!”
What’s most satisfying about her work, we ask her.
“Seeing the joy people find when they make changes, how good they are feeling and their excitement about how the changes are positively impacting the environment,” she says.
As a plant-based nutritionist and inner life skills coach, Nicole offers expertise beyond a a plant-forward diet. This includes home electrification, using less energy and water, choosing an EV, and reducing waste.

Nicole, thank you for helping all of us lessen our very own carbon impact.
In these times…, it is exactly right that, as you suggest, we don’t wait for someone else to come and solve the problem for us. We take personal action and move ahead now, and our personal actions make a big difference, we know it, and we move forward with pride.
Your program offers insights into how to make the biggest impact.
Thank you for that!
Our personal responsibility does not end with “I recycle”, though recycling is a good first step. Nicole, we are now onto more meaty steps… and we follow you.
Sincerely, and Happy New Year, InMenlo 2026, to everyone reading this!

Hi Ole,
Thank you so much for your support and also leading the way for climate action in Menlo Park. It’s true that we all need to take individual action. As we change our own habits, others follow and these new ways become the norm.
The old way doesn’t cut it anymore. Just as we’ve moved from rotary phones to smart phones, we are moving from gas powered heating equipment to electric heat pumps, and from meat-centered diets to plant-centered diets. These improvements make our lives better and provide a livable future for the next generations.
Happy New Year to all!
Nicole
