Who remembers the A&W Root Bear?

“I showed it to a friend, Jeff Gaffney, who grew up in Atherton. Not only did he remember fondly, but he worked there. As the bear mascot, e.g. the A&W Root Bear!
“He said Ray Bartles was on his paper route, and eventually gave him the job at A&W.”

I was a carhop there all thru high school. Made $1.35/Hour in 1968 and never worked harder in my life !
