Menlo Spark salutes Climate Action Heroes for Earth Day

by Linda Hubbard on April 22, 2016

Emails Diane Bailey, Executive Director of Menlo Spark: “We’ve just finished a fun project for Earth Day [April 22] called Local Climate Action Heroes to celebrate all the wonderful things that our local leaders, youth, families and businesses are doing to become more sustainable and lower their carbon footprint. You can see all of our Heroes highlighted on our website.

What was fun for us is that we’ve interviewed all the heroes highlighted on the landing page and a good proportion of those listed in the longer document. We didn’t necessarily talk to them about environmental issues, rather other good and interesting things these folks were doing:

City Councilmember Ray Mueller

Margo McAuliffe

Kirsten Keith

Jesse Cool and Carlos Canada

Whoo there! Climate action hero’s? A hero is someone who preforms a life saving action disregarding their own life. Like a solder fighting for our Republic’s freedom, not some dweeb/nerd who has transformed a bike! Lets be careful with the use of that word “hero”!
Next you be saying that Barry Soltero was transformed into B. Hussein O! HOPE not!!!

Somewhat akin to naming Caitlyn Jenner ‘Woman of the Year” !! Ludicrous.

I salute these heroes– they may not be risking their lives, but their actions may help save many others. If we can all take the time and put in the effort to help, we may just have a livable habitat for future generations. Bravo!
